Papers, 1871-1918.

Papers consist of incoming correspondence from family and from Oberlin professors William Goodell Frost, William G. Ballantine, Edward I. Bosworth, and Azariah Smith Root. There are also letters from Hall and his wife, Ada, to their family, written from Europe. A thirteen-volume diary (1884-1918) covers Hall's years of teaching and administration at Oberlin College and his travels abroad. The diary is an important source for the study of Oberlin history. A partial calendar to the diaries is available.
